#CWC23: Defending Champions England Powered By Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Reece Topley Hammer Bangladesh By 137 Runs

After losing their opening game against New Zealand, Defending champions England put their campaign on track by recording their first win. It was a massive 137 run win over Bangladesh in Dharamsala .

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and asked England to bat first. And England batsmen made Shakib pay as they posed and imposing 364 / 9 in their 50 overs . Opener Jonny Bairstow Led the way with a blazing 52 ( 59 balls , 8 fours) fellow opener Dawid Malan was on the other hand was superb as he smashed a splendid power packed 140 ( 107 balls , 16 fours, 5 sixes) , Joe Root joined the party with a fine 82 ( 68 balls , 8 fours, 1 six) Skipper Jos Buttler and Harry Brook chipped in with 20 each .

The Bangladesh bowlers were ripped apart in the contest – Mustafizur Rahman 0/ 70 ( 10 overs) , Taskin Ahmed 1/ 38 ( 6 overs) , Shoriful Islam 3/ 75 ( 10 overs) , Mahedi Hasan 4/ 71 ( 8 overs) Skipper Shakib Al Hasan 1/ 52 ( 10 overs) , Mehidy Hasan Miraz 0/ 55 ( 6 overs)

In reply to the huge total, Bangladesh batting collapsed with the exception of – Litton Das (76) and Mushfiqur Rahim (51) . The wrecker in chief was England seamer Reece Topley . Tanzid Hasan ( 1) , Najmul Hossain Shanto ( 0) , Skipper Shakib Al Hasan ( 1) , Mehidy Hasan Miraz ( 8 ), Towhid Hridoy ( 39 ) completed the disappointing batting display . Bangaldesh were bolwed out for 227 in 48. 2 overs

For England the bowlers complimented their batsmen – Chris Woakes 2/ 49 ( 8 overs) , Reece Topley was brilliant 4/ 43 ( 10 overs), Sam Curran 1/ 47 ( 7.1 overs), Mark Wood 1/ 29 ( 10 overs), Adil Rashid 1/ 42 ( 10 overs), Liam Livingstone 1/ 13 ( 3 overs)
