Kolkata Knight Riders kept alive their play-offs hopes as they beat Gujarat Titans by 29 runs in a Tata IPL 2026 encounter at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Earlier GT won the toss an opted to bowl first.
KKR put into bat lost skipper Ajinkya Rahane early for run a ball 14 . But the dangerous Kiwi Finn Allen exploded in his inmitable style and blasted a superb 93 off 35 balls . Unfortunate to miss a hundred Allen smashed 10 sixes and four fours in his carnage with an astonishing strike rate of 265.7 . Allen got support from young Angkrish Raghuvanshi was impressed scoring unbetaen 82 ( 44 balls , 4 fours, 7 sixes). Aussie Cameron Green was also brilliant smashing a quick 28 ball unbeaten 52 ( 3 fours, 4 sixes) as KKR finished strongly at an imposing 247/2 in their 20 overs.

GT were sloppy in the fied with some dropped catches that proved costly at the end . The GT bowling too which has been impressive so far expecially the pacers were bit off line and length this time around and hence went for runs.

In reply GT lost Nishant Sindhu 1 , who came in place of retired hurt Sai Sudharsan. Skipper Shubman Gill played yet another fine knock 85 ( 49 balls , 5 fours , 7 sixes ) , Jos Buttler hit 57 ( 35 balls , 5 fours , 2 sixes). Rahul Tewatia 2 was out off the last ball of the innings bolwed by Cameron Green. Sai Sudharsan who came back to bat again remained unbeaten on 53 ( 28 balls , 6 fours, 3 sixes) and GT could manage 218/4 in their 20 overs.
