Already out of the tournament Lucknow Super Giants scored an unlikely 7 wicket win over five-time winners Chennai Super Kings to slightly dent their play- offs hopes in a Tata IPl 2026 encounter.
Earlier , LSG won the toss and opted to bowl first . CSK got off to cautious start with the total 31-1, 3.5 overs. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was first out for 13, Sanju Samson was out for 20 , Urvil Patel 7.
Kartik Sharma top- scored for the men in yellow with fine 71 ( 42 balls , 6 fours, 5 sixes), Dewald Brevis scored 25 ( 16 balls 2 sixes). Shivam Dube not 32 ( 16 balls 3 fours, 2 sixes) , Prashant Veernot out 10 as CSK reached 187/5 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 188, LSG were in control thanks to Australia’s T20 Skipper Mitchell Marsh who has found his touch so late in the tournament . Marsh was in aggressive mood from the start along with fello Aussie opener Josh Inglis. The duo put LSG on course for an emphatic win putting on 135-1, 11.4 overs .

Inglis was first out for 36 ( 32 balls , 3 fours, 1 six). Marsh on the other hand was explosive and was unlucky to miss a well deserved ton with a freak run- out . But not before he had scored a match – winning blazing 90 ( 38 balls , 9 fours , 7 sixes) . Abdul Samad fell for 7 .
Nicholas Pooran was man in hurry scoring at will and remained not out 32 ( 17 balls , 1 four, 4 sixes) and along with Mukul Choudhary not out 13 ( 10 balls 2 fours) saw LSH hpome by seven wickets LSG reaching 188/3 in 16.4 overs)
Chennai Super Kings Bowling : The absence of Jamie Overton was felt . Mukesh Choudhary 1/24 ( 3 overs) , Spencer Johnson 1/39 ( 4 overs), Anshul Kamboj was expensive 0/63 ( 2.4 over), Noor Ahmad 0/21 ( 4 overs)
