#TATAIPL-2024-62 : Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Bowlers Help Royal Challengers Bengaluru Beat Delhi Capitals By 47 Runs

Royal Challengers Bengaluru in front of their packed home crowd did not disappoint their fans as they thrashed Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in a Tata IPL  2024 encounter in Bengaluru.

Earlier, with regular Delhi Capitals Skipper Rishabh Pant suspended for one match,  Axar Patel was named skipper and he won the toss and opted to bowl first.

RCB lost skipper Faf du Plessis early for 6 . Virat Kohli looked good but fell to Ishant Sharma for 27 . Will Jacks provided the power 41 ( 29 balls , 3 fours , 2 sixes) but missed out a big one . Rajat Patidar once again showed his consistent form with yet another fine innings of 52  ( 32 balls, 3 fours, 3 sixes) . RCB lost wickets quickly in the middle and it dented their 200 plus total hopes .

Mahipal Lomror ( 13), Dinesh Karthik a rare failure ( 0) , Swapnil Singh ( 0) , Karn Sharma run-out ( 6) , Mohammed Siraj run-out 0 . Thanks to big hitting Aussie Cameron Green who remained not out 32  ( 24 balls , 1 four, 2 sixes) , RCB reached  187/ 9 in their 20 overs.

In the chase , DC got off to a horror start losing  back in the playing eleven David Warner early for 1 . Jake Fraser-McGurk was unlucky to be run – out  21  ( 8 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes) , Abishek Porel ( 2) , Kumar Kushagra ( 2) ,  Shai Hope ( 29).

DC chase were tottering  at 86-5, in 9.3 overs. Very soon dangerous  Tristan Stubbs was run-out 3  the sixth wicket for DC  .   Stand-in Skipper Axar Patel fought hard and scored a brilliant aggressive 57 ( 40 balls , 5 fours, 3 sixes) to delay  the inevitable . Rasikh Dar Salam fell soon after for ( 10) .  Mukesh Kumar ( 3) as DC headed towards a disappointing defeat .

Kuldeep Yadav  was the last man out for  6  while  Ishant Sharma remained not out  0. DC all- out for 140/ 10 ( 19.1 overs). Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning by thumping 47 runs. It was RCB’s fifth win on the trot .
