Riding on a super unbeaten double ton by Skipper Shubman Gill and and 35th ODI ton by classy Rohit Sharma, India beat West Indies by 8 wickets in the 2ndODI to take a 2-0 lead in the three match ODI series .
On a flat track with nothing there for the bowlers, it was a run feast on hot and humid conditions at the ACA stadium Guwahati . Earlier India Skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first. Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi who played a key role in state’s historic Ranji Trophy win got his first ODI India cap in this match.
West Indies batting first post a massive 405 7 in their 50 overs . The huge total was due to the sterling hundreds – John Campbell 101 ( 68 balls , 9 fours, 5 sixes) , Skipper Shai Hope 104 ( 94 balls, 8 fours, 3 sixes) and the third centurion Amir Jangoo 114 ( 77 balls , 13 fours, 3 sixes) . They made upfor the failures of – Keacy Carty 9 , Sherfane Rutherford 0 , Keemo Paul 3 , Alzarri Joseph 8. Roston Chase was not out 29 and Shamar Joseph was not out 14 towards the end

In reply , India made it an easy one . The openers Skipper Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma put India on track with a magnificent 255 run- opening stand . West Indies were outbatted in this contest.

Gill was imperious in his 233 not out off 133 balls (26 fours, 8 sixes). And in the process Gill smashed the fastest-ever double century in ODI history, reaching 200 off just 116 balls .
Rohit Sharma showed he still has the fire burning with a fine 35th century (101 off 75 balls; 10 fours, 6 sixes) . The Hit Man also brought up his 12,000 runs in ODI cricket to become only the seventh batter overall and third Indian, after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, to complete the landmark in the 50-overs format.
Virat Kohli was out early this time for 29 . Ruturaj Gaikwad not out 31 along with Gill saw India romp home in style while chasing their highest ever total in a run chase . India reaching 406 /2 in 43. 3 overs and winning by 8 wickets .
