Delhi Capitals caused a major upset as they beat the fancied Mumbai Indians by Four wickets at Brabourne stadium , Mumbai . Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first.
Mumbai Indians and India skipper Rohit Sharma was in fine form and scored 41 . Ishan Kishan was the star though with bat hitting an entertaining and unbeaten 81 off 48 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. The rest of the batting flopped Anmolpreet Singh ( 8) , Tilak Varma ( 22) , Kieron Pollard ( 3 ) Tim David ( 12 ) Daniel Sams ( 7 ) as Mumbai reached 177 for 5 in their 20 overs.
For Delhi Shardul Thakur was expensive with 0/ 47 ( 4 overs) Khaleel Ahmed 2/ 27 ( 4 overs) , Axar Patel 0/ 40 ( 4 overs) struggled for his rhythm , Kamlesh Nagarkoti 0/ 29 ( 2 overs) . The star for Delhi was Kuldeep Yadav with outstanding figures of 3/ 18 ( 4 overs)

In reply , Delhi got off to a flier Then lost quick wickets . Tim Seifert ( 21 ) , Prithvi Shaw ( 38) , Mandeep Singh ( 0), Skipper Rishabh Pant ( 1), Rovman Powell ( 0). Delhi Looked like losing but Lalit Yadav 48 not out off 38 balls , along with Shardul Tahakur quick fire 22 gave them hope. Later Axar Joined Lalit to take Delhi to a stunning win. Axar was brilliant with his cameo innings 38 off 17 balls with two fours and three sixes. The innings shocked Mumbai . Delhi eventually wining by three wickets finishing at 179/ 6 in 18. 2 overs,
For Mumbai Indians, Daniel Sams had a nightmarish spell 0/ 57 ( 4 overs) . Jasprit Bumrah was hammered 0/ 43 ( 3.2 overs) , Basil Thampi 3/ 35 ( 4 overs) , Murugan Ashwin 2/ 14 ( 4 overs) was brilliant, Tymal Mills 1/ 26 ( 3 overs)
The end result was embarrassing for Rohit Sharma now India skipper . He would have believed that the target was defendable but was not to be .
