India Announce Squad For England ODI’s : Shubman Gill To Lead , Shreyas Iyer Vice-Captain; Virat Kohli Named But Awaits Fitness Clearance

The BCCI have announced a 15- memeber Indian team for the three -match England ODI series Beginning from July 14 .  Shubman Gill has been named Skipper , the newly apppointed T20I Skipper Shreyas Iyer  was named as his  deputy.

India will play the three ODIs against England at Edgbaston (July 14), Sophia Gardens (July 16) and Lord’s (July 19).

Superstar batsman Virat Kohli who missed the Afghanistan ODI series due to hamstring injury is also in the sqaud ( but will await fitness clearance) . According to reports, Kohli will report to the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru  for a fitness test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is rather unlucky to miss out  despite his fine unbeaten ton in the final ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. He had earl;ier smashed his first in the series too .

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah has also been called back to the squad after being rested for workload management. Also making a comeback is veteran all rounder Axar Patel, who replaced rookie left arm spinner Harsh Dubey.

ODI squad for England: Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli*, Shreyas Iyer (Vice-Captain), K L Rahul (wicket-keeper), Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Gurnoor Brar.
