#LoksabhaElection2024 : CEC Rajiv Kumar Announces Elections In 7 Phases From April 19th-June 1 ; Results On June 4th

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and state assembly elections for Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha.

Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh & Odisha on 13 May; Arunachal Pradesh & Sikkim on 19 April; Counting of votes on 4 June .

Our team is now complete, we are fully prepared for biggest festival of Indian democracy, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said while introducing newly appointed election commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.

At a press conference CEC Rajiv Kumar says, “We have 97 crore registered voters, 10.5 lakhs polling stations, 1.5 crores polling officials and security staff, 55 lakhs EVMs, 4 lakhs vehicles.”

“We are committed to give the nation a truly festive, democratic environment. The term of the 17th Lok Sabha is due to expire on 16th June 2024. The terms of the Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are also due to expire in June 2024. Elections are due in Jammu and Kashmir…”

The CEC then announced that the elections will be held in 7 phases from 19th April – June 1 ; Counting of votes on 4th June.

Date of poll for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on 26th April, third phase on 7th May, fourth phase on 13th May, fifth phase on 20th May, sixth phase on 26th May and the seventh phase on 1st June.

While , Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh & Odisha on 13 May; Arunachal Pradesh & Sikkim on 19 April; Counting of votes on 4 June .

Voting in Delhi’s seven Lok Sabha seats will take place on May 25
