India’s Tour Of West Indies : BCCI Announces Test, ODI Squads ; Rohit Sharma To Lead ; Ajinkya Rahane Deputy In Tests, Hardik Pandya In ODI’s

After the  rout against Australia in the WTC final 2023 at The Oval  that dashed  India’s  hopes of ICC trophy since 2013  , the BCCI has announced the Indian team for the tour of West Indies starting on July 12 .

Under fire Rohit Sharma will lead the team in both the formats . In the ODI squad there are some expected changes . Impressive Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson are back , So is Umran Malik Mukesh Kumar gets a call -up . Hardik Pandya will be the vice- captain . The rest pick themselves .

In the Tests , despite the Oval failure, Rohit Sharma holds on to captaincy . And interestingly Ajinkya Rahane who was dropped from the BCCI central contracts and made a comeback in the WTC final has been named vice- captain . In case the selectors post West Indies tour look beyond Rohit Sharma as Test skipper, Rahane could well the replacement . That would be a spectacular comeback of sorts. K S Bharat is the wicket0 keeper along with Ishan Kishan.  Talented Yashasvi Jaiswal gets a Test call . Cheteshwar Pujara dropped . Mohammed Shami  rested   .
