Rohit scored 40 ( 24 balls , 6 fours, 2 sixes), opening partner Shubman Gill was not left behind 23 ( 24 balls, 3 fours, 1 six) before was bowled by a beauty from Keshav Maharaj.
The birthday boy Virat Kohli, who turned 35, awaited did not disappoint fans and finally got his much awaited 49th ODI hundred equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s record. It was classic Virat Kohli innings watchful, with aggressive running between wickets and hitting those lovely cover and straight drives with sheer class . KL Rahul fell for 8 , Suryakumar Yadav 22 ( 14 balls, 5 fours ) and Ravindra Jadeja gave the innings the finishing touches with 29 ( 15 balls, 3 fours, 1 six).
