Five-time World Cup winners Australia have bounced back in a dominating way as they recorded the biggest ever victory margin in history as they crushed Netherlands by 309 runs in the CWC23 encounter at Arun Jaitley stadium Delhi. It was Australia’s third straight win after losses to India , South Africa.

Opting to bat first after Aussie Skipper Pat Cummins won the toss the Aussies were on fire from the start . Seasoned opener David Warner scored his second ton of the cup 104 ( 93 balls, 11 fours, 2 sixes).

The Aussies lost big- hitting all-rounder Mitchell Marsh early for ( 9). But Steve Smith badly in search of runs and form finally got going 71 ( 68 balls, 7 fours , 1 six) . The Aussies were on the rampage as Marnus Labuschagne struck 62 ( 47 balls , 7 fours 2 sixes) much to the agony of the Dutch bowlers. Josh Inglis ( 14 ), Cameron Green ( 8) fell cheaply.

The Aussie total at the end was built largely due to the sensational fastest century in the history of the World Cup by Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell toyed with the Dutch bowling in his devastating assault. It was sheer brute force . Maxwell scoring 106 ( 44 Balls, 9 fours, 8 sixes) as Australia posted a massive 399/ 8 in their 50 overs.

Dutch bowling was ripped apart : Aryan Dutt 1/ 59 ( 7 overs), Colin Ackermann 0/ 19 ( 4 overs), Logan van Beek 4/ 74 ( 10 overs), Paul van Meekeren 0/ 64 ( 10 overs), Vikramjit Singh 0/ 27 ( 4 overs), Roelof van der Merwe 0/ 41 ( 5 overs), Bas de Leede 2/ 115 ( 10 Overs)

In reply the shell- shocked Dutch collapsed like pack of cards – Vikramjit Singh ( 25 ), Max ODowd ( 6), Colin Ackermann ( 10), Sybrand Engelbrecht ( 11), Bas de Leede ( 4), Skipper Scott Edwards not out ( 12), Teja Nidamanuru ( 14), Logan van Beek ( 0), Roelof van der Merwe ( 0), Aryan Dutt ( 1), Paul van Meekeren ( 0) in a very very disappointing display with the bat following the hammering it took while bowling. Netherlands were bowled out for 90 in 21 overs. Leaving their fans shocked and numbed.

Aussie bowlers were on top and superbly complimented their batsmen with a clinical show : Aussie skipper Pat Cummins led from the front with 1/ 14 ( 4 overs) , Mitchell Starc 1/ 22 ( 4 overs), Josh Hazlewood 1/ 27 ( 6 overs) , Mitchell Marsh 2/ 19 ( 4 overs), Adam Zampa very impressive 4/ 8 ( 3 overs)
