2023 turned out to be a great year for Bollywood lovers as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol , Bobby Deol , Ranbir Kapoor delivered stellar performances and ruled the silver screen with their blockbuster films.
Shah Rukh Khan – The King Khan after five years bounced back in style with three Blockbusters in the year – Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki. The 58 – year old silenced his critics with new action image and the audience just loved his reinvention – Pathaan with Deepika Padukone , a gigantic ₹1050 crore-grosser. Then beat his own record with Jawan, achieving a staggering ₹1152 crore. His third film with Rajkumar Hirani too has wowed the audience and is set to end the year with a hat-trick of success at the Box- office for SRK .
Sunny Deol : At 66 many had written him off as an actor. But Sunny stunned all by delivering a humungous hit . A sequel to his 2001 Blockbuster Gadar- Ek Prem Katha . In Gadar 2 directed by Anil Sharma , co- starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma , Sunny dons the role of Tara Singh and the audience simply fell in love with his character yet again . The fans went crazy and crooned the song – Main Nikla Gaddi leke .
The film was monster hit – It raked a mammoth Rs 687 Crore . After ‘Pathaan’, Gadar 2′ became one of the fastest movies to reach the Rs 500 crore club. That who’s who of Bollywood attended Gadar 2 — Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ajay Devgn showed Bollywood as one happy family. Sunny also celebrated the success with sisters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
Salman Khan : Bollywood’s bhaijaan came up with two films this year. His first film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ failed to impress the audience but ‘Tiger 3’ was enough to let Salman’s contemporaries know that he is the ultimate ‘Tiger’ of Bollywood. The film, which was directed by Maneesh Sharma, grossed Rs 466.63 crore at the box office.
Bobby Deol : With Race 3 in 2018 the junior Deol was back on the big screen with much needed new look avatar thanks to superstar Salman Khan. But with Animal without a dialogue He sets the screen on fire and the audience mesmerised with his powerful acting skills . In-fact many critics wrote if there has to be comeback of sorts then it has be like Bobby Deol. With Gadar 2 Sunny Deol is back and with Animal Bobby . The Deol brothers are now suddenly the most sought after in Bollywood . And rocking at 54 is amazing for someone who made his debut way back in 1995 with Rajumar Santoshi’s Barsaat.
Ranbir Kapoor : He was desperate for success after Sanju and Animal gave him that. He once again left everyone surprised with his powerful performance. ‘Animal’ is now Ranbir’s biggest-ever hit, but has also been criticised for its depiction of misogyny. ‘Kabir Singh’ fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed the film. The film also stars Rashmika Mandana, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor and Prem Chopra.
