The suspense over the government formation in Haryana is over. BJP will form a coalition government with Dushyant Chautala’s JJP. According to the deal the chief Minister will be from the BJP while the Deputy Chief Minister will be from the JJP .
The alliance was sealed at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Minister of State (MoS) for finance and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anurag Thakur was present along with Jannayak Janata Party Dushyant Chautala .
“Accepting the mandate by the people of Haryana, leaders of both parties (BJP-JJP) have decided that BJP-JJP will form the government together, in Haryana:”.
“CM will be from BJP & Deputy CM will be from JJP,” Amit Shah said. He further stated that some Independents too are backing the government.
Speaking on the alliance Dushyant said : “To give a stable government to Haryana it was important for BJP & JJP to come together. I would like to thank Amit Shah ji and Nadda ji. Our party had decided that for the betterment of the state it is important to have a stable government.”
Dushyant Chautala is widely tipped to become Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP led government.
BJP had won 40 seats while the JJP had won 10 in the 90 member assembly . BJP fell six short of majority. Manohar Lal Khattar will begin his second innings as chief minister.
Leaders of both the parties will now meet the Governor to stake claim to form the government.
