Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal is closing in on Swiss Legend Roger Federer’s Grand Slam record of 20. The Spaniard is now behind the Swiss maestro’s tally at 19.
Nadal clinched his 4th US Open title and his 19th Grand Slam title by winning yet another thriller . He won a tough battle against Russian Daniil Medvedev. 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4 was the final score -line.

The tall Russian battled hard and took the match to the brink and many thought could pull off an upset by the experience and the grit of Nadal prevailed in the end .
Nadal was stretched to the limit by the Russian who refused to go down without a fight. It dashed pre- match prediction that the final could be one- sided affair and it would be an easy one for Rafa to power home to yet another Grand Slam title . Rafa in- fact had to play at his very best to romp home .
