Terror In J&K : Six Terrorists Including Shujaat Bukhari’s Assailant Gunned Down In Battle With Security Forces

In  a major success for the Indian army in the war against terror  from across the border, as many as six terrorists, according to media reports,  were killed in a gun battle with security forces in south Kashmirs Bijbehera area after the Indian Army and state police launched an operation, officials said.

According to ANI, journalist Shujaat Bukhari’s killer Azad Malik was among the 6 terrorists shot dead.

The Rising Kashmir editor was shot dead by terrorists outside the newspaper’s office in the heart of Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar on June 14.

We have recovered war-like stores from encounter site, army spokesperson Rajesh Kalia said.

The operation is still in progress, according to officials.

Officials said they had information that six or seven terrorists were hiding at Seikpora village and when search and cordon operation began in early hours it turned into an operation.

On Tuesday, four terrorists were killed in neighbouring Shopian district in a similar operation
