Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their second consecutive Tata IPl 2026 as they outclassed Gujarat Titans by five- wickets in the final at the Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad.
With this win RCB becomes the third team with win back-to-back IPL titles along with teams like Chennai Super Kings (2010-11), Mumbai Indians (2019- 2020) .
Earlier RCB Skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first. A move that was vindicated by his bolwers who did not allow GT batsmen any room to get away. It was super bowling effort as they restricted GT to a modest 155/8 in their 20 overs. The GT batting line- up scores said it all – Sai Sudharsan 12. Skipper Shubman Gill 10 , Nishant Sindhu 20, Jos Buttler 19, Arshad Khan 15, Rahul Tewatia 7, Jason Holder 7, Rashid Khan 7 . Only Washington Sundar not out 50 ( 37 balls , 5 fours ) showed the intent on the big day.
