Delhi Capitals used the home advantage superbly as they beat five- time winners Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets at the Arun Jaitely Stadium , Delhi. This after DC Skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Stand-in MI Skipper Suryakumar Yadav smahed a fine 51 ( 36 balls, 3 fours 2 sixes), Sherfane Rutherford ( 5), Naman Dhir ( 28). Mitchell Santner not out 19, and Corbin Bosch not out 11 as MI finished with rather modest total of 162/6 in their 20 overs. DC bowlers had done well torestrict the MI batting unit.

The game- changing and match- winning innings for DC and one that stunned MI was the blistering innings by the talented Sameer Rizvi . It was special knock of 90 ( 51 balls , 7 fours, 7 sixes) that too against the likes of Bumrah, Santner, Bosch, Chahar. Despite losing four wickets , DC were in total control.
It was left to the South African duo of experianced David Miller 21 ( 18 balls , 4 fours) not out and Tristan Stubbs not out 3 to see DC home by six wickets. DC reaching 164/4 ( 18.1 overs)
