Gujarat Titans strengthened their play-offs chances as they outclassed a faltering Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs in a Tata IPL 2026 encounter in Jaipur . Earler RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. With regular RR Skipper Riyan parag missing out due to hamstring injury , Yashasvi Jaiswal led the side instead .
GT were off to a super start with openers – Skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The duo put on 118-1, 10.5 overs threatening a 250 plus total . Sai Sudharsan scored 55 ( 36 balls , 6 fours 2 sixes), Gill was in his imperious best smashing a fine 84 ( 44 balls , 9 fours 3 sixes). Jos Buttler fell early for 13 , Jason Holder 7 .
Washington Sundar not out 37 ( 20 balls , 2 fours, 3 sixes) and Rahul Tewatia not out 14 ( 4 balls 2 sixes) saw GT finish eventually at 229/4 in their 20 overs.
Rajasthan Royals Bowling was tad bit off . Jofra Archer 0/46 ( 3 overs) struggled with wides and no- balls. Tushar Deshpande 0/52 ( 4 overs), Brijesh Sharma 2/47 ( 4 overs), Yash Raj Punja 1/37 ( 4 overs), Ravindra Jadeja 1/34 ( 4 overs), Donovan Ferreira 0/11 ( 1 over)
In reply chasing 230 , RR were rocked early and lost wickets regularly. Kagiso Rabada bowled with fire generating sheer pace . Jason Holder too was among the wickets . Rashid Khan wrecked through the line- up with his wily spin. RR batsmen scores told the tale – Yashasvi Jaiswal 3 , Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Dhurv Jurel 24 , Shimron Hetmyer 6 , Ravindra Jadeja 38 , Donovan Ferreira4, Shubham Dubey 15, Dasun Shanaka 16, Jofra Archer 5 , Tushar Deshpande, Brijesh Sharma not out 1 .
