Lucknow Super Giants ended their Tata IPL 2024 campaign with a spirit lifting 18- run win over Mumbai Indians in an encounter at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai .
Earlier, Mumbai Indians Skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first . LSG lost opener Devdutt Padikkal for (0 ). But embattled Skipper K L Rahul put innings back on track with a fine 55 ( 41 balls, 3 fours, 3 sixes). Aussie Marcus Stoinis looked set for big one scoring 28 ( 22 balls, 5 fours) but could not carry on. Deepak Hooda fell for 11.
LSG were given the power in the middle stages by blistering innings by Nicholas Pooran 75 ( 29 balls , 5 fours, 8 sixes) . It was a terrific knock when the team needed it most .
Arshad Khan fell for ( 0) , while Ayush Badoni ( 22) and Krunal Pandya ( 12) remained not out as LSG thanks to Pooran blitz reached an imposing 214/ 6 in their 20 overs. A challenge to the MI batting- order.

In reply to the big total , MI began aggressively , Rohit Sharma opened with Dewald Brevis instead of Ishan Kishan and the pair clicked .That too in the last match . The duo put on 88-1, 8.4 over before Brevis fell first for 23 ( 20 balls, 1 four, 2 sixes).
Rohit on the other hand played a blistering knock , unfortunately it came at the end of the tournament a 68 ( 38 balls , 10 fours, 3 sixes) , Suryakumar Yadav did not dis not disturb the scorers ( 0) . Ishan Kishan ( 14) Skipper Hardik Pandya a tournament to forget ( 16) , Nehal Wadhera ( 1) . Naman Dhir gave gave the MI crowd something to cheer with his unbeaten 62 ( 28 balls , 4 fours, 5 sixes) , Romario Shepherd was not out 1 as MI could manage only 196/ 6 in their 20 overs .
Not only they lost the match by 18 runs they finished last in the 10- team tournament . Making it a tournament to forget for new Skipper Hardik Pandya.
