10 DRG jawans and one civilian driver lost their lives in an IED attack by Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Wednesday, officials said.
As per PTI report, The incident took place under Aranpur police station limits when a team of the state police’s District Reserve Guard (DRG) was returning after an anti-Naxalite operation, a senior official said.

The area is located around 450 km from state capital Raipur.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel told ANI “Dantewada incident is heart-rending. My condolences to their families. Their sacrifice won’t go to waste. Pressure is being created on naxals, so they did this cowardice. Naxalism will be uprooted. I spoke with HM Amit Shah & Mallikarjun Kharge”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too tweeted his reaction,

Reacting to the attack, Amit Shah, Home Minister tweeted , Anguished by the cowardly attack on the Chhattisgarh police at Dantewada. Have spoken to Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister and assured all possible assistance to the state government. My condolences to the bereaved family members of the martyred Jawans.

Former Chhattisgarh CM and BJP leader Raman Singh told ANI , “This is a heart-rending incident – both for Chhattisgarh as well as the country. I think it is high time for enhancing interstate joint operation and searching…Home Minister is extending all possible help.”
