Opposition leaders have slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for diverting the debate while speaking on the J&K Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and J&K Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha.

Shah constantly lashed out at the INDIA alliance and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in his speech forcing the opposition to walk out . RJD MP Manoj Jha told ANI , “I just said that there is no elected MP from Kashmir but he (Amit Shah) took it to somewhere else…The kind of speech Home Minister Amit Shah gave today lacked dignity… So our LoP Mallikarjun Kharge decided that we should walk out of the Parliament.”

Backing Jha, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi told ANI outside parliament , “Whenever we were diverting from J&K’s issue, we were getting reminders from the Chairman not to divert away from the topic but when Union HM in his reply, diverted from J&K’s issue and started speaking on Dheeraj Sahu and his corruption, we decided to walk out from the Parliament…”

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari backed opposition move to walk out as he told ANI , “There was no reply, it was “gaalion ki bauchhar”. The one who is no more in this world was also abused. We walked out as ‘ghamandiya’ term kept being used even when the entire House raised an objection. But he didn’t withdraw the remark as he was drunk in arrogance. So, we thought it better to boycott the House and not listen to abuses…”
