Narada News Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Mathew Samuel Who did the sting operation on TMC leaders and which was released earlier before the assembly polls in (2016) has told media that he is satisfied after the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two Trinamool Congress ministers, an MLA and a former party minister in connection with its probe into the scam.
Senior ministers Subrata Mukherjee and Firhad Hakim and former ministers Madan Mitra, who is now an MLA, and Sovan Chatterjee, were arrested in the morning. They secured bail later from a CBI court. Samuel said that steps against corruption are needed and investigations should be fair.
Howeve, r Samuel according to media reports expressed surprise at the exclusion of two names Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari . Samuel wondered why Suvendu Adhikari now with the BJP and leader of the opposition was not arrested like other leaders of the TMC by the CBI. He recalled : I had gone and given the money to Suvendu Adhikari in his office. His name is not on the list. What happened ?
Both Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari feature prominently in the tapes aired by Narada News . Both have not denied that the they do not figure in the tapes .
Clearly the battle between the TMC and the BJP even after may 2 verdict is going to continue for while .
