In a massive shocker of a statement , Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hema Malini has said that the stamped at Maha Kumbh last week was not a big incident and it was being exaggerated.
Speaking to reporters after visiting Maha Kumbh, she said quoted by ANI , “…We went to Kumbh, we had a very nice bath. It is right that an incident took place, but it was not a very big incident. I don’t know how big it was. It is being exaggerated…It was very well-managed, and everything was done very well…So many people are coming, it is very difficult to manage but we are doing our best…”
It may be recalled that at least 30 people were killed and 60 others injured in a stampede that broke out at the Maha Kumbh Mela officials said on January 29 .
The pre-dawn stampede at the Sangam area of the Maha Kumbh broke out as millions of pilgrims jostled for space to take a holy dip on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, considered one of the most auspicious days during the mela.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Vaibhav Krishna told a press conference here in the evening the stampede has left 30 dead and 60 others injured.
