Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner was fuming with rage after his team literally threw away a winning match against Kings XI Punjab where they made a heavy weather chasing 127. Keen to make amends SRH went in to match against the Delhi Capitals in Dubai. And in the end it was warner who had the last laugh.
In must win match for the SRH, DC skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and asked SRH to bat first. Iyer’s move backfired quickly as openers , SRH skipper David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha went after the bowling straight away. The aggression rattled the Delhi capitals bowling. They were guilty of bowling the wrong line and paid a heavy price for it. Warner led form the front with an aggressive 66 off 34 balls with eight fours and two sixes. And playing perfect role as opener Saha was brilliant at the top . He played a splendid innings and gave warner superb support to lay the platform for a massive total and their stand virtually batted Delhi Capitals out of the game. The duo were brilliant and literally toyed with the Delhi capitals bowling.
A well deserved victory for @SunRisers as they win by 88 runs.#Dream11IPL pic.twitter.com/PqlaF6IolV

Kagiso Rabada was hammered for 22 in over by Warner. Saha was out for well made 45 ball 87 with 12 fours and two sixes. Warner and Saha put on a sterling 107 for the first wicket. Later Manish Pandey in fine form hit some big blows along with Kane Williamson. Pandey was unbeaten on 44 off 31 balls while Williamson was unbeaten on 11. SRH putting on an imposing total of 219/ 2 in their twenty overs.
Delhi Capitals had a nightmarish day with the ball. Anrich Nortje 1/37 (4 overs), Kagiso Rabada was expensive 0/54 ( 4 overs), Ravichandran Ashwin 1/35 (3 overs) , Axar Patel 0/36 (4 overs), Tushar Deshpande 0/35 ( 3 overs), Marcus Stoinis 0/15 ( 2 overs)
Chasing a mammoth total was huge ask for the Delhi capitals and it was proved soon. Pressure got to Delhi Capitals batsmen early . In-form Shikhar Dhawan was out first ball for (0). Promoted at number three Marcus Stoinis scored ( 5), Ajinkya Rahane threw his bat around and struggled to score ( 26) . Shimron Hetmyer scored ( 16), Shreyas Iyer ( 7 ) too failed. Rishabh Pant having a poor IPl battled hard to score 36 off 35 balls with three fours and 1 six. there was no fluency in his batting. Saha has outclassed him in batting department in this match. Both Saha and Pant are in the Test team for the Australia series. So the management has tough ask who will be the first choice in Down Under in Tests. With the asking rate high the rest of the batting flopped . Delhi Capitals crashed to a humiliating 131 all out in 19 overs. Sunrisers winning by a thumping 88 runs.
For SRH, Rashid Khan was once again outstanding and came out with one of the best figures in IPL history . Rashid had figures of 3/7 (4 overs), Sandeep Sharma 2/27 ( 4 overs), Jason Holder 1/46 ( 4 overs), Thangarasu Natarajan 2/26 ( 4 overs) Vijay Shankar 1/11 ( 1.5 overs)

The win gives SRH some hope to qualify for the play- offs. However, results of other matches too would come into the picture. It will be interesting if SRH are able to win their remaining matches. For Delhi Capitals this was their third loss in a row. A loss which would make them think hard about the road ahead. Their batting and bowling had fallen apart in the last three matches. So worries for Shreyas Iyer.
