Union I&B Minster Anurag Thakur has claimed that the Congress continuing with the Bharatjodoyatra by former party president Rahul Gandhi , was not adhering to Covid protocols announced by the Centre amid the fears of a fresh surge in cases in the country.
Speaking to ANI, Anurag Thakur said, “The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has been going on for more than a month. Several countries across the globe are battling record surges in Covid cases and the government has taken appropriate steps to ensure safety of our people. So why is the Congress opposing it? Protocols are for everyone.”
Reacting to Anurag Thakur’s comments, Senior Congress Leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram told ANI, it won’t be surprising if Anurag Thakur says ‘Goli Maro…’ which he said earlier, look at the tremendous response to our yatra and the way people are gathering…He’s a big minister, we’re small people.
I will wear the mask. PM wore a mask to Parliament y’day but later there was no mask on his face. We will follow all protocols issued by govt on the basis of medical evidence. BJP is doing politics on COVID & trying to defame Bharat Jodo Yatra, Jairam Ramesh, Congress told ANI
