Gritty and determined Ireland eager to prove that their first win was no fluke produced yet another sensational performance to shock T20 World Champions India by 1 run. With this win tshe Irish created history as they clinched the two- match T20I series 2-0.
India Skipper Shreyas Iyer won toss yet agin and opted to bowl first . Ireland lost opener Tim Tector early for 5 , soon fellow partner Ross Adair followed for 16 . Ireland 21/2 in 2.2 overs. Harry Tector put the team on track with a fine 53 ( 47 balls 5 fours, 1 six).
Skipper Lorcan Tucker 15, Benjamin Calitz struck a crucial 37 ( 23 balls , 3 fours 2 sixes) , Gareth Delany did not disturb the scorers 0 , George Dockrell 19 , Liam McCarthy 2 , Jai Moondra not out 1 . Ireland fighting their way to somewhat defendable total 154/8 in their 20 overs .

The IPL form had simply vanished while playing in India colours for the batting unit as Irish pegged India back with regular wickets and agile fielding . Ishan Kishan out for 12 . Axar Patel 14 , Shivam Dube 20 . None of them looked set to take India home.
Deputy Tilak Varma battled hard as wickets around him fell around him to score 55 ( 46 balls 3 fours, 1 six), Debutant Suryansh Shedge 1 . Harshit Rana swung his bats around for 21 ( 10 balls , 2 fours 1 six) but fell when India were nearly home . Arshdeep Singh 4. India needed 8 off the last ball simply not possible but Yadav struck a six to see India finishing at an agonising 153 /9 in their 20 overs . Ireland winning by barest of margins.

The series loss means Shreyas Iyer’s T20I Skipper tenure has begun on a dismal note. The selectors too need to take the blame for they replaced a World Cup winning Skipper In Suryakumar Yadav( battling personal form) to get this result. This will hurt India.
