As the first BJP government in Bihar under Samrat Choudhury saw his ministry expanded with the induction of 31 more ministers . An interesting development caught the eye . That was the return of dynast’s in politics in a silent way . Yes viewers and the Godi media expectedly decided to ignore it .
There was lot of buzz about Nishant Kumar post return of NDA in the state . Earlier there was buzz of him been named as Deputy CM but that rumour fizziled out. So the son of former chief minister Nitish Kumar, joined the Samrat Choudhary government as health minister.
Remember BJP particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Home Minister Amit Shah and several BJP leaders were so much vocal against dynastic politics in their aggressive attacks on the opposition . But dynast’s within BJP or party’s alligned with the BJP is no problem for the party .
It was not only Nishant’s appoinment or joining the government in Bihar that made news . Nitish Mishra (BJP) and Santosh Manjhi (HAMS) — sons of former chief ministers Jagannath Mishra (late Congress leader) and HAMS chief Jitan Ram Manjhi — too were sworn in as ministers. Deepak Prakash, son of RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha also found a place .
In the NDA government in Bihar there is berth for Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) of Chirag Paswan . During the Bihar polls BJP attacked Tejashwi Yadav , son of former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav and slammed opposition party’s for encouraging dynastic politics. But with Nishant Kumar’s entry such rhetoric is quickly put in cold storage .
It is not only Bihar, but dynast’s are also very much present in the BJP . It is time they accept this as a reality in Indian politics across party lines. It is an enduring phenomenon and cannot be ignored. Merely taking jibes will not work . Jibe at Rahul Gandhi cannot be defended with Jyotiraditya Scindia ( Son of late Senior Congress leader Madhavrao Scindia), Chirag Paswan is son of former late Ram Vilas Paswan . Bansuri Swaraj is daughter of late BJP leader and former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj. The list goes on and on ….
Perhaps no one exposed the BJP’s double speak on Dynastic politics than Omar Abdullah , Become becoming J&K Chief Minister , Omar Abdullah reportedly stated :BJP’s criticism of dynasty politics is simply political hypocrisy. “The BJP only seems to oppose political dynasties when it’s convenient. They have no issues with dynastic politics among their allies,” he said. Well, Nishant Kumar is from JD(U) ally of the BJP isn’t it ? .
