Sunrisers Hyderabad came out a superb all- round show with both and bat and ball to thrash Kolkata Knight Riders by an emphatic 65 runs in a Tata IPl 2026 encounter at Eden Gardens Kolkata.
KKR Skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to boiwl first. Rahane’s move back-fired as SRH openers – the destructive duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head got the team off to a blistering start. SRH in power play raced to 82-1, 5.4 overs . Travis Head 46 ( 21 balls , 6 fours, 3 sixes), Abhishek Sharma matched Head with a blazing 48 ( 21 balls, 4 fours, 4 sixes). KKR bowlers looked clueless a big total nearing 250 was on the cards given the explosive start.

But SRH had minor hiccup in the middle as they lost wickets in succession. Skipper Ishan Kishan ( 14), Aniket Verma (1), Salil Arora (0), Shivang Kumar ( 4). Fortunately for SRH the experianced South African Heinrich Klaasen smashed a timely 52 ( 35 balls , 4 fours 1 six) and well supported by all- rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy 39 ( 24 balls , 4 fours 1 six) saw SRH reach a daunting total of 226/8 in their 20 overs.

In reply chasing a big total of 227 . KKR needed an explosive start . Kiwi opener Finn Allen gave hints of the intent but unfortunately it did not last long . Finn was out for a quick 28 ( 7 balls , 4 fours 2 sixes). Skipper Ajinkya Rahane dismissed cheaply for 8. The player with the highest price tag In tata IPL 2026 Aussie All- rounder Cameron Green flopped again run-out for 2. Rinku Singh ( 35), Anukul Roy ( 0). KKR batting collapsed . Ramandeep Singh ( 10), Sunil Narine ( 12 ) , Kartik Tyagi ( 5).
The only solace in the batting was from Angkrish Raghuvanshi who scored a fine 52 ( 29 balls , 6 fours, 2 sixes) before being run-out. Vaibhav Arora not out 1 Varun Chakaravarthy ( 0) . KKR were bundled out for 161/10 in 16 overs by the sharp SRH bowling and fielding. It was KKR’s second consecutive loss .
