Lok Sabha adjourned sine die on Friday.The Lok Sabha was adjourned six days ahead of schedule. The session, which commenced on December 7, was to conclude on December 29, subject to exigencies of business.
As per report by ANI, In the Business Advisory Council (BAC) meeting of Lok Sabha, it was unanimously decided to adjourn the winter session of Parliament sine die on December 23, sources said on Tuesday.
Opposition parties repeatedly disrupted the House proceedings, demanding a discussion on the border clash between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal.
The Lok Sabha witnessed five adjournments on Thursday.
During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha yesterday, when the opposition members were protesting, demanding discussion over the India-China border issue, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, that the Business Advisory Committee has decided to adjourn the House sine die .
Following the Lok Sabha , The Rajya Sabha was on Friday too was adjourned sine die seven days ahead of the scheduled completion of the 258th session. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the house sine die and said he felt privileged to be part of the August House.
The Chairman extended his greetings to the members of the House for the upcoming festivals, including Christmas, Pongal, Lohri and others, and suggested that there is a need to be vigilant of the rising cases of Covid pandemic and take necessary precautions.
“This session was marked with a display of wit, sarcasm, humour and intellect. I hope to experience more of it with greater indulgence from experienced members,” Dhankhar said.
The session started on December 7 and was scheduled to be held till December 29.
This was the first full session for the newly elected Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, officiating as Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
