Going into the match of the Tata IPL 2023 two teams Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were desperate for a win to put their campaign on track. But it was the Mumbai Indians who had the last laugh as they beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi.
Earlier Mumbai Indians Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first . DC start flopped again with Prithvi Shaw continuing his poor run at the top with ( 15) , Manish Pandey ( 26) , Yash Dhull ( 2) , Rovman Powell ( 4 ) meant DC batting collapsed again. Lalit Yadav ( 2) . Had not Skipper David Warner not hit yet another fifty but not fast enough/ rather consumed too many balls on the way 51 ( 47 Balls, six fours) DC would have struggled to reach the total they reached. Ever improving all- rounder Axar Patel played yet another fine innings lower down the order to lift the DC innings . Axar scored 54 ( 25 balls, 4 fours , five sixes) . DC would have wished Warner should have played an Axar like innings . Delhi Capitals were eventually bowled out for 172/ 10 in their 20 overs.

In reply , India and Mumbai Indians Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started on a positive note . The duo put on 71 in just 7.3 overs for the first wicket when Ishan fell for ( 31) . Rohit Sharma blasted his way back to some form with a timely fifty . The hitman scoring a fine 65 ( 45 balls, 6 fours, 4 sixes) . Tilak Varma chipped in with a valuable 41 ( 29 balls, 1 four, 4 sixes) . Suryakumar Yadav’s poor run continued out for ( 0) . Tim David not out 14 and Cameron Green not out 17 saw the Mumbai Indians get their first win . Mumbai reaching 173/4 ( 20 overs)

With yet another loss trouble is mounting on DC skipper David Warner. This is not the start head coach Ricky Ponting and Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly would have wanted . DC has to pick up soon otherwise their campaign could well be over. Three losses is bound to hurt big .
