Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their impressive run as they romped home to their fourth win as they beat Punjab Kings by seven wickets on a hot day at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and asked Punjab to bat first , Shikhar Dhawan captained the side in Mayank Agarwal’s absence . Dhawan fell early though for 8. His opening partner Prabhsimran Singh out for 14. Jonny Bairstow could score 12. But the innings got the momentum thanks to yet another fine knock by Englishman Liam Livingstone who hit a 33 ball power packed 60 with five fours and four sixes. Valuable contributions came from Shahrukh Khan 26 , Odean Smith knowcn for his power could score 11. Punjab were bowled out for a paltry 151 in their 20 overs.
For SRH, Umran Malik’s fiery pace was too hot to handle for Punjab’s batters as he took three wickets without conceding a run in the 20th over of Punjab’s innings, while one wicket fell via the run out . Jammu and Kashmir’s Malik is India’s fastest bowler with his ability to consistently bowl around the 150 kmph mark. Umran had bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2022 when he clocked 153 kmph against the Chennai Super Kings.

Fiery Umran finished with 4/ 28 (4 overs), He got good support from Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3/22 (4 overs), T Natarajan 1/ 38 ( 4 overs), Jagadeesha Suchith 1/ 28 ( 4 overs) . SRH bowlers were backed by good fielding as well . Kane Williamson rotated his bowlers asturely and his field placings were spot on .
In reply , SRH lost Skipper Kane Williamson early. But the confident SRH were not rattled . Abhishek Sharma scored a 25 ball ( 31) with three fours 1 six, in- from Rahul Tripathi once again looked superb with his variety of shots and scored an attractive 22 ball 34 with four fours and one six. SRH were in complete control through out . Consistent Aiden Markram once again finished the match in style with a six and remained unbeaten with a fine 27 ball 41 ( 4 fours , 1 six). Giving him support and remaining not out was Nicholas Pooran with a 30 ball 35 . SRH powering home in 18. 5 overs reaching 152/ 3 .
