Delhi Capitals bounced back to a convincing 44 run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 19th match of the Tata IPL 2022 at Brabourne stadium , Mumbai.
KKR Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss asked Delhi to bat first . The move appeared to backfire as Delhi posted an impressive 215 / 5 in their 20 overs . Explosive Aussie opener David Warner after a failure in first match blasted back to form with 45 ball 61 studded with six fours and two sixes. Prithvi Shaw also showed fine form as he hit 51 off 29 balls with 7 fours and two sixes. Skipper Rishabh Pant played atypical 14 ball 27 . Late finish was done well by Axar Patel who hit a 14 ball unbeaten 22 ( 2 fours, 1 six) and Shardul Thakur an unbeaten 11 ball 29 ( 1 four , 3 sixes)
KKR bowlers had a tough day out : Sunil Narine was outstanding though 2/ 21 ( 4 overs) , Umesh Yadav 1/ 48 ( 4 overs), Pat Cummins 0/ 51 ( 4 overs) had a off day, Varun Chakaravarthy 1/ 44 ( 4 overs) was guilty of no-balls twice, Andre Russell 1/ 16 ( 2 overs) , Venkatesh Iyer 0/ 14 ( 1 over) , Rasikh Salam 0/ 10 ( 1 over)
Chasing a big target is not at all easy, KKR batsmen soon found out . Ajinkya Rahane’s poor form continued out for 8, Venkatesh Iyer ( 18) . Skipper Shreyas Iyer tried hard with his 33 ball 54 ( five fours, 2 sixes) , Nitish Rana ( 30), Andre Russell ( 24), Sam Billings (15). There was no heroics from Pat Cummins this time ( 4) . KKR slumped to 171/ 10 in 19. 4 overs. Delhi Capitals winning by 44 runs.
