Mumbai Indians showed why they are emerging favourites for a sixth IPL title as they hammered Delhi Capitals by 59 runs in a Tata IPL 2025 encounter at Wankhede to cement the final play-offs spot.
The final four play- offs teams are – Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians.

But DC hopes quickly vanished as Suryakumar Yadav in terrific form this season took control towards the later part of the MI innings . SKY was belligerant in his unbeaten 73 ( 43 balls , 7 fours, 4 sixes) along with Naman Dhir not out 24 ( 8 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes) ensured MI reach 180// 5 in their 2 overs. The imperious SKY onslaught took the game away from DC litrally.

DC in the chase never got going from the start . Regular wickets hurt them big and they could not recover from the three early blows – K L Rahul ( 11), stand-in Skipper Faf du Plessis ( in place of Axar Patel) 6, Abishek Porel 6.
The rest found the going tough Sameer Rizvi ( 39), Vipraj Nigam ( 20), Tristan Stubbs (2), Ashutosh Sharma ( 18) , Madhav Tiwari ( 3), Kuldeep Yadav ( 7), Mustafizur Rahman ( 0) , Dushmantha Chameera not out 8 as DC innings folded at a disappointing 121/10 in 18. 2 overs. MI winning by whopping 59 runs.

DC who played well at the start of the tournament lost their stem towards the critical end of the tournament and missed the play-offs spot very narrowly.
