#TATAIPL-2025-44 : Match Called Off Due To Rain , Punjab Kings Kolkata Knight Riders Share Points

Rain played spoilsport to what was turning out to be thriller between Punjab Kings and defending Champions Kolkata Knight Riders in a Tata IPL 2025 encounter. As the match was called off  after KKR played 1 over scoring 7.  Both teams shared 1 point each.

Earlier, Punjab Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first . And the Kings were off to blazing start as KKR bowlers had no clue where to bowl. It was carnage from the start. The in-from Punjab openers – Priyansh Arya 69 ( 35 balls , 8 fours, 4 sixes) and the experienced Prabhsimran Singh put on a superb 120 run- stand for the first wicket in 11. 5 overs when Ary fell.

Prabhsimran Singh carried on the onslaught smashing 83 ( 49 balls, 6 fours , 6 sixes) and was unlucky not to get to a well deserved hundred. Glenn Maxwell’s horror run continued out for just ( 7) , Maxwell has come under fire for his below par scores. Marco Jansen too holed out for 3. Skipper Shreyas Iyer not out 25 ( 16 balls, 1 four, 1 six) and Josh Inglis not out 11 ( 6 balls, 2 fours) saw Punjab Kings reach an imposing 201/ 4 in their 20 overs. A thriller was on the cards.

The crowd were expecting KKR chase at home. But the rain intervened  after  one over and was hence called off finally at 10: 58 pm . KKR  were 7/ 0 ( 1 over) with Rahmanullah Gurbaz not out 1 , Sunil Narine not out 4
