Rohit Sharma blasted his way back to form as he powered Mumbai Indians to thumping 9 wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in a Tata IPL 2025 encounter at Wankhede, Mumbai.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya the MI skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first . And His bowlers and fielders were sharp . CSK were strangled for runs . Rachin Ravindra was first out for 5 . His fellow opening partner Shaik Rasheed could score 19. Ayush Mhatre looked set for big one but fell for 32 ( 15 balls , 4 fours, 2 sixes).
CSK were looking for momentum and tall left- hander Shivam Dube after a rather slow start exploded to score a fine 50 ( 32 balls, 2 fours, 4 sixes). Ravindra Jadeja finally found some much needed form as he cracked a fine unbeaten 53 ( 35 balls, 4 fours 2 sixes) .
Greeted by huge crowd as he arrived on the crease CSK Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni left fans dejected as he was out for just 4 . Jamie Overton not out 4 . CSK fighting hard to reach 176/ 5 in their 20 overs. MI had restricted SRH to 162 last time when they played here.

In reply , MI were off to a flier . Opener Ryan Rickelton and impact player Rohit Sharma took on the CSK bowlers from the word go. The duo put on quick 63 for the first wicket in just 6.4 overs. It put MI in complete control of the match. Rickelton was the first to go for 24 ( 19 balls , 3 fours, 1 six) .
Desperate to get form back after series of poor scores , Rohit Sharma made his intent clear with some stunning shots and with Suryakumar Yadav blasted the CSK bowlers all over. MI put in a dominant display .
Rohit scored a breathtaking 76 ( 45 balls , 4 fours, 6 sixes) and remained not out . SKY to unleashed his brute force and scored an unbeaten 68 ( 30 balls, 6 fours, 5 sixes) . As MI thrashed Chennai Super Kings by 9 wickets . MI 177/1 in 15. 4 overs.
The much hyped El Clasico was one- sided MI way right through.
