Gujarat Titans came out with a commanding performance to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 8 wickets in a Tata IPL 2025 encounter.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first . RCB were off to a shaky start with Virat Kohli out for just 7. Phil Salt was lucky to survive but did not capitalise on the missed chances and was out for 14. Two jolts rocked RCB and left the large crowd at Bengaluru shocked . RCB were tottering at 35/ 3 in 4.4 overs. Skipper Rajat Patidar too did not last long out for ( 12) , Devdutt Padikkal dismissed for ( 4) . GT seamer Mohammed Siraj rocked RCB with early wickets .
Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingston put RCB back with their timely Knocks. Jitesh scored 33 ( 21 balls, 5 fours, 1 six), Liam Livingstone lived a charm life dropped on many occasions to finally play big innings 54 ( 40 balls, 1 four and 5 sixes) . RCB recovered from a collapse.
Aussie Tim David gave the finishing touches with his important cameo 32 ( 18 balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes), Krunal Pandya was out for ( 5). As RCB after initial stutter managed to reach a fighting 169/ 8 in their 20 overs.
GT despite the bowling effort would not be pleased with their efforts in the filed as they dropped many catches in otherwise fine show.
GT bowling figures read : Mohammed Siraj 3/ 19 ( 4 overs) was fiery and on target. Arshad Khan 1/ 17 ( 2 overs), Prasidh Krishna 1/ 26 ( 4 overs), Rashid Khan 0/ 54 ( 4 overs) bowled better than the figures suggest but he was tad unlucky with dropped chances off his bowling too. Ishant Sharma 1/ 27 ( 2 overs) Sai Kishore 2/ 22 ( 4 overs)
In reply, chasing 170 , GT lost Skipper and opener Shubman Gill for ( 14) with the total at 32/ 1 in 4.4 overs . But Gill’s fellow opener Sai Sudharsan along with the equally fluent Jos Buttler put the GT chase on track.

Sudharshan was aggressive and played some stunning shots and was unlucky to miss out a fifty out for 49 ( 36 balls , 7 fours) . Sudharshan fell with the score at 107 / 2 in 12. 3 overs. Sherfane Rutherford soon joined Buttler in the middle .
Jos Butter was in imperious form racing to superb unbeaten 73 ( 39 balls , 5 fours, 6 sixes) . His partner Sherfane Rutherford 31 not out ( 19 balls, 1 four, 3 sixes ) too wasted no time to begin his innings in aggressive fashion as GT eyed a quick finish . The duo put on a match- winning 57 run stand to take GT home by 8 wickets. GT reaching 170/ 2 in 17. 5 overs.
