Gujarat Titans raised their all-round game at home , Ahmedabad to hand Mumbai Indians their second consecutive loss by beating them by 36 runs in Tata IPL 2025 encounter.
Earlier, MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first . GT openers Skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan impressed in the power play as they raced to 78 in 8.3 overs before Gill fell for 38 ( 27 balls, 4 fours 1 six) who was given a send off by Hardik Pandya . Coming in at number 3, Jos Buttler kept the momentum going scoring 39 ( 24 balls , 5 fours, 1 six) before he was dismissed .
Shahrukh Khan ( 9) , Sherfane Rutherford ( 18) , Rahul Tewatia ( 0), Rashid Khan ( 6), Kagiso Rabada not out 7 . GT finally reaching somewhat challenging total of 196/ 8 in their 20 overs.

In reply , MI got off to a horror start with Rohit Sharma out yet again for early for ( 8) bowled by a beauty from Mohammed Siraj. Rohit’s fellow opener Ryan Rickelton was out cheaply for ( 6) bowled by Siraj. Siraj double strike rocked MI .

Tilak Varma 39 ( 36 balls , 3 fours , 1 six) and Suryakumar Yadav with his typical aggressive innings 48 ( 28 balls , 1 four, 4 sixes) brought Mi back. But unfortunately both fell quickly to Prasidh Krishna thus jolting the MI chase .
Robin Minz ( 3), Skipper Hardik Pandya ( 11) was also dismissed early . Naman Dhir not out 18 and Mitchell Santner not out 18 could not carry further as MI could manage a disappointing 160/ 6 in their 20 overs over. GT winning by 36 runs comfortable at the end .
GT bowling : Mohammed Siraj was brilliant with early strikes 2/ 34 ( 4 overs), Kagiso Rabada 1/ 42 ( 4 overs) , Ishant Sharma 0/ 17 ( 2 overs), Prasidh Krishna 2/18 ( 4 overs) was impressive. Rashid Khan 0/ 10 ( 2 overs) , Sai Kishore 1/ 37 ( 4 overs)
