Lucknow Super Giants took advantage of the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting collapse to register an emphatic win by 28 runs in a Tata IPL 2024 encounter at Bengaluru.
RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis, won the toss and asked LSG to bat first . LSG Skipper KL Rahul began on a slow note and could score only 20 . His opening partner Quinton de Kock was in sublime form taking the attack to the RCB bowlers with shots all- round the wicket.
Quinton de Kock anchored the innings well and scored a brilliant 81 ( 56 Balls, 8 fours, 5 sixes). Devdutt Padikkal fell for 6 . Big- hitting Aussie Marcus Stoinis looked set for big one but could manage only 24 ( 15 balls , 1 fours 2 sixes). Nicholas Pooran gave the finishing touches to the LSG total with a blazing cameo an unbeaten 40 ( 21 balls , 1 four, 5 sixes). LSG reaching a fighting 181/ 5 in their 20 overs

In reply chasing 182 , RCB got off to flier . Virat Kohli got going with 22 ( 16 balls , 2 fours 1 six) and Faf du Plessis put on quick 40 in 4.2 for the first wicket. Then RCB saw dramatic collapse . Kohli was out soon. And Faf du Plessis was run-out by brilliant throw by Devdutt Padikkal for ( 19 ) , Dangerous Glenn Maxwell was out for ( 0).
Aussie Cameron Green yet to fire so far fell for 9 . From 40-1, 4.2 overs, RCB slumped to 58-4, 7.4 overs. LSG seamer Mayank Yadav bowled with some pace and bagged three wickets with sheer pace. Anuj Rawat fell for ( 11) , Rajat Patidar battled hard but eventually holed out for 29 ( 21 balls 2 fours, 2 sixes) . Mahipal Lomror played a lovely cameo as impact player 33 ( 13 balls , 3 fours , 3 sixes) it was too late though. Dinesh Karthik on whom RCB hoped for the finish was out for 4 . RCB were finally bowled out for 153 / 10 in 19. 4 overs.
