As BJP and Congress hit out at each other in a bitter campaign in the on- going 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Kerala for campaigning visited injured Shashi Tharoor at the hospital .
Tharoor is the Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency
Tharoor later tweeted the picture and wrote , saying he was touched by the minister’s gesture in the midst of hectic election campaigning. “Civility is a rare virtue in Indian politics — great to see her practice it by example!,” he added.

Tharoor had sustained head injuries while on a temple visit and required stitches and was soon admitted to the Trivandrum Medical College hospital.
Sitharaman was also in Kerala at the time, participating in a roadshow with Kummanam Rajasekharan, the BJP candidate fighting against Tharoor from the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat.
The Thiruvananthapuram seat this time is seeing a triangular contest between the Congress, BJP and the LDF.
Tharoor also tweeted to say that his LDF rival C Divakaran called in the morning to express concern about his well-being.
