In yet another major development in West Bengal, former BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change in the Narendra Modi government , Babul Supriyo has jumped ship and has formally joined the Trinamool Congress.
Supriyo had quit the BJP following the recent Union Cabinet reshuffle.

He previously served as Union Minister of State for Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
