The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Supremo Sharad Pawar Tuesday has dramatically announced his decision to quit his post as the party’s president thus stunning political pundits with his move .
“I am not retiring from public life. Wherever I am, whether in Mumbai, Pune or Baramati, I will always be available for the people to meet from morning to night,” said Pawar. He was speaking at a function to release the revised version of his memoir Lok Majhe Saangaati.
Meanwhile , Leader of the opposition in Maharashtra assembly Ajit Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule met Sharad Pawar after his resignation as NCP chief and said he needs two to three days to rethink his decision. His decision to resign as NCP chief was met with protests by party workers.

“He (Sharad Pawar) has said he has made his decision, but he will need two-three days to think it over on account of your insistence. But he will think it over only when all workers go home,” Ajit told party workers at the premises of the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Mumbai.
