Keen to ensure that the BSP – SP alliance is able to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha Polls in 2019 in Uttar Pradesh, in a sudden decision BSP supremo and former Chief Minister Mayawati has dropped a bombshell.
She has reportedly according to various media reports, announced that she would not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, stressing that it was more important for the SP-BSP alliance to win. “I know I can win from any seat, all I have to do is file my nomination and my party workers will take care of the rest. We have a strong alliance with RLD and SP to defeat BJP and it is more important for us to win more seats than for me to win one. I had earlier resigned from Rajya Sabha to keep our movement alive but keeping in mind the current political situation I have decided not to contest LS elections,” she said.
SP- BSP- RLD have a Grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019 aimed with goal to stop BJP .
Mayawati also earlier in a tweet took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mai Bhi Chowkidar campaign when she tweeted
After BJP launch ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign, PM Modi & others added the prefix ‘Chowkidar’ to their Twitter handles. So now Narendra Modi is Chowkidar & no more a ‘Chaiwala’ which he was at the time of last LS election. What a change India is witnessing under BJP rule. Bravo!
