After plunging in politics and keeping the media guessing on his political plans. Superstar actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan as reportedly said that his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam, will contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
“I will definitely contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
Haasan, 64, said his party’s campaign would focus on Tamil Nadu’s development and that they are open to alliances with like-minded parties.
He, however, reportedly said it was too soon to say if they would lead the alliance or be part of another one.
Haasan’s entry has made the Tamil Nadu politics all the interesting with another film superstar Rajinikanth too is eyeing place in the state.
So, with established parties AIADMK, DMK, among whom the powers of state has rotated over the years, it remains to be seen how much of an impact the likes of Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth, really make in Tamil Nadu politics. It will be an intriguing clash without any doubts.
