India began their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in emphatci fashion as they routed a helpless UAE in a rather one- sided encouner by 9 wickets.
Put into bat by India Skipper Suryakumar Yadav, , The UAE batting line-up folded like pack of cards and were bundled out for mere 57 in 13. 1 overs. The Indian bowling attack was just too hot handle .
For UAE only two batsmen reached double figures . It told the tale of their batting – Alishan Sharafu ( 22) and Skipper Muhammad Waseem ( 19) . The rest cut a sorry figure. India bowling was spot on : Kuldeep Yadav leading th charge with his wily leg- spin 4/7 ( 2.1 overs) , Shivam Dube 3/4 ( 2 overs) , Varun Chakaravarthy 1/4 ( 2 overs) , Axar Patel 1/13 ( 3 overs), Hardik Pandya ( with new golden hairdo) 0/10 ( 1 over), Jasprit Bumrah 1/19 ( 3 overs).
In reply, India were in a hurry and raced away to victory in juts 4. 3 overs. Losing opener Abhishek Sharma ( 30). Shubman Gill not out 20 off 9 and Skipper Suryakumar Yadav not out 7 saw India romp home to reach 60/1. and win by 9 wickets.
UAE bowlers had nothing to show given their dismal batting display. Haider Ali 0/10 ( 1 over), M Rohid Khan 0/15 ( 1 over), Dhruv Parashar 0/13 ( 1 over), Junaid Siddique 1/16( 1 over), Simranjeet Singh 0/6 ( 0.3)
India will be tested with a new look Pakistan on Sunday September 14 the much awaited encounter.
