Needing to win the qualify for the play-off stage, Sunrisers Hyderabad came out with the right intent against the Mumbai Indians and won a one-sided contest by 10 wickets in Sharjah . Mumbai had already qualified and are top of the table with 18 points. Having qualified Mumbai Indians just played the match as if it was asked merely to go out and play to complete the formalities.
It rested Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya while Rohit Sharma surprisingly returned as skipper after injury and he looked rusty in the middle. Remember he was left out of the Indian team announced for the Australia tour due to injury.
Put into bat by David warner, Mumbai Indians found runs hard to come by. SRH bowlers kept them under control. Rohit Sharma returned with flop ( 4), Quinton de Kock (25), Suryakumar Yadav ( 36), Kieron Pollard towards the end hit some big blows unbeaten 41 off 25 balls with two fours and four sixes. Mumbai Indians struggled to reach 148/9 in their twenty overs.

Despite Mumbai’s apparent disinterest in the match, there is not taking away the credit form form the Sunrisers Hyderabad. David Warner had inspired a remarkable comeback.
Chasing the modest target SRH openers skipper David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha demolished the Mumbai Indians bowling with their aggression. It was brilliant display of attacking batting. Both remained unbeaten in thrilling 151 run stand. Warner not out 85 off 58 balls with 10 fours and one six. Saha equally sublime in his unbeaten 58 off 45 balls with seven fours and one six. SRH won by ease. Reaching 151/0 in 17.1 overs.

The SRH win means Kolkata Knight Riders are now out of the tournament and pays the price for not been consistent.
In qualifier 1 Mumbai Indians take on the Delhi Capitals while SRH take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator
