The principal opposition party in Tamil Nadu , DMK has released its Lok Sabha 2019 manifesto. It was released by party president M K Stalin and in the presence of others leaders like Kanimozhi and TR Baalu. The state has 39 Lok Sabha seats.
In its manifesto, the DMK stated that efforts will be taken to release all the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi case; all Sri Lankan refugees will be given citizenship; South Indian rivers will be connected. Abolition of NEET and waiver of education loans have found place in the DMK manifesto.
It has promised to make Tamil the official language in central government offices in Tamil Nadu. Further, Chennai- Salem 8 lane highway project, Chief Minister Palaniswamy’s pet project, will be dropped by DMK. Instead, all existing highways between Chennai and Salem will be widened.
Besides, a second rocket launching centre will be made in Kulasekarapattinam, free rail facility will be provided for school and college students. The DMK has also promised to create more jobs and fill up all existing vacancies in all central govt departments.
CBI probe will be conducted into the Kodanadu Estate Heist; proposal for full fledged statehood for Puducherry and compensation to victims of demonetisation will be given. The DMK has promised to restart the Sethu Samudhram project and keep petrol, diesel and gas prices under control. Besides, administration pricing mechanism will be implemented and a law will be formulated to curb human trafficking.
