The Last time the Congress was in power in Delhi it was under the stalwart Sheila Dikshit. It was a long one too beginning in 1998 and ended in 2013 a 15 year rein . Since then the Congress party post Sheila Dixit era has been in disarray and the mood of the cadres at its lowest ebb.
And the party which ended the Congress reign in 2013 and which the Congress later on supported in forming the government for brief period was Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP .
So viewers , those who are taken aback by Congress stance to campaign aggressively against the AAP in the 2025 Assembly polls should understand the reason behind the Congress strategy . How can one party go along with a very party which ousted them from power? will the cadres , workers accept it? No . It is not the case of Delhi alone. In Punjab too in the Assembly Polls in 2022 the AAP had ousted the Congress from power . Capt Amarinder Singh was then the Chief Minister.

Rahul Gandhi reportedly said the former chief minister came talking about bringing in clean politics but the biggest ‘liquor scam’ took place in Delhi under his watch, while he got engrossed in ‘sheesh mahal politics’. Kejrwal not to hold back hit back at Gandhi’s raising the National Herald case. So the gloves are off .
The son of Late CM Sheila Dikshit , Sandeep is contesting against Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi constituency . Sandeep has done door – to door campaign in the capital and is trying his best to woo the voters to vote for the Congress. He has raised the misgovernance of the AAP government in desperate attempt to reenergise the Congress party and the lift the morale of the workers.
How much his and his party’s campaign bear result will be known on 8th February when the results of the elections come out out. It is up to the people on February 5th to decide whether they are impressed by the Congress manifesto or not . So for the GOP Delhi polls 2025 is huge as the future of the party is at stake .
