After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath threw his hat in the ring for the upcoming polls and would contest from Gorakhpur instead of possible Ayodhya, the pressure mounted on former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Samajawadi party to name his constituency for the polls.
Addressing a press conference , Akhilesh Yadav began by congratulating his sister-in-law Aparna Yadav , who joined BJP earlier the day. He said he was happy Samajwadi party was expanding it’s ideology in a witty jibe.

As far his contesting is concerned, Akhilesh said he would take the permission of the people of Azamgarh if he decides to contest in the assembly Polls 2022.
Elections for the 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting February 10, the Election Commission said.
The polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7 in seven phases.
The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
In the 2017 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won a landslide victory winning 312 Assembly seats.
The party secured a 39.67 per cent vote share in the elections for 403-member assembly.
The Samajwadi Party bagged 47 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party won 19 while the Congress could manage to win only seven seats.
