Sunrisers Hyderabad raised their game in the must win game as the beat Chennai Super Kings By five wickets in a TataIPL 2026 encounter at Chepauk . Earlier the five- time winner’s CSK won the toss and decided to bat first.
Bacckede by very vocal home crowd , CSK got off to a flier Sanju Samson 27 ( 13 balls 5 fours 1 six) , skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad played a sedate innings and struggled for his 15 ( 21balls ). SRH Skipper Pat Cummins led from the front and hardly gave anything away and took the key wickets too — Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kartik Sharma to peg the CSK back. Urvil Patel 12, Kartik Sharma 32 .

Dewald Brevis increased the intensity and gave the innings the push with a quick 44 ( 27 balls , 2 fours, 4 sixes), Shivam Dube chipped in with 26 ( 23 balls 3 fours, 1 six), Prashant Veer was for 11. Akeal Hosein not out 3 . CSK was expected to cross 200 but fell short as SRH bowlers did not give them any room . Eventuyally CSK ended up at modest 180/7 in their 20 overs. Their only hope was the picth which was bit diffrent to score easly .

In reply , SRH were off to a cautious start as CSK bolwers bowling to a plan tied down the two explosive openers – Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Head looked frustrated as CSK bolwers bolwed a diffrent line to him and he was out early for just 6 . Abhishek Sharma struggled with his normal fluency and fell after scoring 26 ( 21 balls 3 fours 1 six)
The SRH innings gained momentum and the chase looked on course when Ishan Kishan joined Heinrich Klaasen. The duo put SRH on track with fine 75- run stand . Heinrich Klaasen dropped early made CSK pay scoring blazing 47 ( 26 balls , 6 fours , 2 sixes) and before he left had a heated exchange with Sanju Samson who stumped him .
Ishan Kishan on the other hand anchored the innings well. Batting sensibly, he rotated the strike when Heinrich Klaasen was going great guns. After Heinrich Klaasen’s exit, Ishan exploded with his range of shots and some hit with brute power. Ishan fell but not before scoring a superb match- winning innings 70 ( 47 balls , 7 fours, 3 sixes ).

Keen to end the match in hurry Nitish Kumar Reddy fell for 11 . Salil Arora not out 10 , Smaran Ravichandran not out 5 saw SRH home by five wicket and seal a play-offs spot. SRH reaching 181/5 in 19 overs.
