India have won their 14th and 15th Gold medals at the Asian games at Jakarta , Palembang thus further raising the nations’ medal tally as the games comes to a close .
First , Ace boxer Amit Phangal has won the Gold medal as he beat reigning Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov in the men’s 49kg flyweight final. The win was by 3-2 via split decision thereby becoming the ninth Indian to clinch the elusive medal in Asiad history.
Earlier , Amit was the lone Indian boxer to make the final in the ongoing edition, beating Philippines’ Carlo Paalam in a 3-2 verdict.
Later on the India duo of Pranab Bardhan and Shibn bagged the Gold in Bridge event to further improve India’s medal tally on the penultimate day of the event.
